Exit device repair and mortise cylinder replacement at Eastview Mall

Last week one of our technicians, Eran, completed a commercial locksmith job at Eastview Mall where we had to repair an exit device and mortise cylinder replacement.
The job involved repairing both an emergency exit door and a front security gate — two important areas that need to function well for safety and access control, per the mall’s regulations.
On the emergency exit door, we replaced a malfunctioning mortise cylinder that was no longer turning correctly. This type of lock is critical in retail spaces for controlling who can lock or unlock the panic bar system from the outside. We installed a new high-quality mortise cylinder, ensuring the key operates good and the latch mechanism functions as it should.

We also made sure the panic bar and alarm system were properly connected and responsive once the new hardware was installed, which they are.
At the front entrance, we repaired the security rolling gate system. These rolling gates often lock into place using a latch mechanism controlled by a key-operated cylinder (rim cylinder). In this case, we replaced the mortise cylinder that was sticking and not engaging the locking mechanism. After removing the old core, we installed a new compatible cylinder, tested it and made sure that the gate latched and unlatched smoothly.
